The Wayward Arms are a California indie/alternative rock project built on memorable melodies, thoughtful songwriting, and guitar-driven arrangements. Drawing inspiration from The Menzingers, Kasador, Death Cab for Cutie, Alkaline Trio, and Queens of the Stone Age, our music moves between energetic rock songs, reflective moments, and infectious hooks, blending modern production with timeless songwriting.

The project began with a guitar and a song. In February 2025, a new acoustic guitar sparked the writing of "Falling," setting off a creative streak that quickly grew into an ever-expanding catalog of original music. What started with one song became The Wayward Arms, a project driven by the excitement of creating something new and seeing where the music leads.

Our songs explore the people, places, and experiences that shape us, from relationships and resilience to the challenges and absurdities of modern life. With layered guitars, melodic bass lines, and arrangements that give each song its own identity, we follow wherever the songwriting takes us rather than limiting ourselves to a single sound.

Rooted in Ventura, California, The Wayward Arms released our debut album, Ready, in June 2026, the first installment of our planned Ready, Aim, Fire trilogy. With new music continually taking shape, we're building a catalog grounded in a simple philosophy: write songs worth returning to.
